Job Description

Position Overview

The Builder / General Contractor is responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and execution of high-end residential and commercial construction projects from concept through completion. This role oversees all aspects of project delivery, including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, quality control, and client communication. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and skilled at bringing luxury designs to life while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship, professionalism, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead and manage multiple high-end residential and commercial builds simultaneously, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.

  • Oversee project planning, including scope definition, budgets, schedules, and permitting.

  • Coordinate with architects, designers, engineers, and consultants throughout the design and construction process.

  • Select, contract, and supervise subcontractors, trades, and vendors to ensure work meets specifications and quality standards.

  • Manage construction schedules using project management software and track milestones for accountability.

  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure workmanship and materials align with design intent and building codes.

Financial Oversight

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, estimates, and change orders.

  • Approve vendor invoices, track costs, and ensure financial accuracy throughout the project.

  • Maintain transparency with clients on budgets, selections, and project progress.

Client Relations & Communication

  • Serve as primary client contact, providing exceptional service, professionalism, and attention to detail.

  • Host regular client and design meetings to review progress, resolve issues, and present updates.

  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when working with high-profile or private clients.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

  • Maintain jobsite safety standards and conduct regular site audits.

  • Uphold company reputation for excellence in craftsmanship and service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in construction management or general contracting , with a proven track record in high-end residential and/or boutique commercial projects .

  • Strong understanding of building systems, luxury finishes, and modern construction methods.

  • Proficient in construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project, or similar).

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Strong financial and contract management acumen.

  • Licensed General Contractor (or ability to obtain license in the state of operation).

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with custom homes , historic renovations , boutique commercial spaces , and interior build-outs .

  • Network of trusted subcontractors and vendors specializing in high-quality craftsmanship.

  • Familiarity with sustainable building practices and energy-efficient design .
