Production Scheduler Job Description

Summary / Objective   

The Production Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and supporting daily production and scheduling activities within the warehouse to ensure efficient workflow, equipment utilization, and timely fulfillment of customer orders. This role focuses on production planning, automated equipment uptime, inventory accuracy, and coordination of assembly, conversion, and packaging activities.

The Production Scheduler works closely with Warehouse leadership and cross-functional teams to align production priorities with customer demand, inventory levels, and operational capacity while maintaining efficiency, quality, and throughput.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate daily production schedules to support customer orders, inventory needs, and operational capacity

  • Monitor and support automated production and packaging equipment to help achieve and sustain targeted uptime levels

  • Assist with troubleshooting minor equipment issues and coordinate maintenance or escalation as needed

  • Ensure equipment is properly set up, operated, cleaned, and maintained in accordance with established procedures

  • Support standardized cleaning and preventative maintenance schedules to promote reliability, safety, and quality

  • Coordinate conversion, assembly, and packaging activities to support timely order completion

  • Communicate production priorities and workflow updates to warehouse team members and leadership

  • Monitor inventory levels of finished goods, kits, and packaging materials and communicate needs to leadership

  • Review and verify inventory movements and support accurate system entry

  • Perform quantity and quality checks to ensure system data aligns with physical inventory

  • Support team members by providing guidance on production processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures

  • Track productivity and operational metrics and report observations to Warehouse leadership

  • Ensure adherence to safety requirements, quality standards, and established procedures

  • Communicate proactively with other departments regarding production constraints, delays, or priority changes

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse work environment

  • Maintain a consistent sense of urgency with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and output

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility   

This position does not have formal supervisory responsibility. The Production Scheduler may provide functional guidance and day-to-day coordination support but does not manage employees.

Work Environment   

This job operates primarily in a warehouse and production environment. The role routinely works around automated equipment, packaging machinery, inventory storage areas, and ladders. Limited administrative work may be performed using standard office tools such as computers and inventory systems.

Physical Demands   

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time. The employee must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. The role requires spending the majority of work hours in the warehouse environment.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work   

This is a full-time, hourly position. Typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on production demands.

Travel   

This position does not require travel.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Comfort working with automated equipment and production systems

  • Ability to learn equipment operation, cleaning, and maintenance requirements

  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft tools, including Excel and Word

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization

  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks while standing or moving for extended periods

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Preferred Education and Experience   

  • Prior experience in a production, manufacturing, warehouse, or assembly environment

  • Experience working with inventory systems or production tracking tools

  • Experience supporting or coordinating production workflows

Work Authorization / Security Clearance   

Employee must be authorized to work in the United States.
