2nd shift days will vary weekly 4:00pm-9:00pm
The armed security officer ensures a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors by enforcing security policies and procedures. This role requires carrying a firearm and responding to threats with sound judgment and professionalism. Officers conduct patrols, monitor surveillance, verify access credentials, and respond to emergencies, alarms, and suspicious activities. They maintain detailed logs, communicate with law enforcement when needed, and deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a strong security presence. High alertness, integrity, and calmness under pressure are essential. Officers must be licensed, trained in firearm safety, and comply with all applicable regulations.
+ Must hold or obtain a valid ASRB license issued in Alabama. + Must be 21+ years old. + Must pass armed training and hold a valid pistol permit.
Security Operations + Conduct regular walking patrols to enhance safety and identify/report concerns. + Monitor facility access points; verify IDs and credentials. + Enforce security procedures per security post instructions. Incident Response & Reporting + Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents using established protocols. + Maintain detailed logs of activities, incidents, and observations. + Perform routine tasks: locking/unlocking doors, managing security systems, and monitoring surveillance feeds. Customer Service & Professionalism + Assist visitors and employees, address concerns with professionalism. + Enforce SEI and client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking). + Maintain a clean, pressed uniform and professional appearance.
Minimum: + Ability to perform in high-paced, potentially stressful environments. + Availability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday), if needed. + Strong situational awareness and curiosity. + Ability to stay calm, problem-solve, and act effectively in critical situations. + Basic computer skills and ability to use a tablet for reporting. Preferred: + Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Stand for at least 1 hour without support or break. + Sit for at least 1 hour without break. + Walk a minimum of mile without stopping. + Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping. Education & Experience : Minimum: Education: HS diploma or equivalent Experience: No experience required Preferred: Education: HS diploma or equivalent Experience: 1+ years verifiable security, military or law enforcement experience.
